Hired a Bellingham lawyer$1000.00 they offered money back. In the interm they held trailer title for almost 3 weeks. returned boat got refund. Bought from an honest private sale a mint 18ft monteray. Boat Country
Terrible from start to finish - wish we didn't buy there.
“We had John as a salesman - we pretty much knew what we wanted - a 16 to 17 foot Smokercraft with a 90 Honda plus a 9.9 kicker installed. We arrived for the test of the boat, and John called me by the wrong name (twice, even when corrected), then proceeded to tell us about what a hard night he had last night, a reference to his partying. He said the boat was ready to go - managed to get it in the water, then started complaining because it wouldn't start. He then cursed the kid who works in the service department, and called him up and started yelling at him to get over here. Once they got gas in it, it ran, and ran fine, however after reviewing the break in period on the engine once I took posession, I realized he overdid the RPM's. When John went to get the boat out of the water, he went into the unloading ramp, and almost got the boat and truck crushed when the fork came up to unload a boat about 30' long. We signed the deal because the nearest other dealer was too far away to bother (mistake), it took over an hour to fill out basic paperwork, the other salesmen were laughing at him in disgust, and I think were really wondering why we were putting up with it, he had to keep re-doing forms. When I got home I got a call from him saying sorry, he wrote down the wrong price, and that I owed $1000 more. After looking again, I saw this was correct, but still another mistake. Delivery took two weeks extra because the couldn't get the motor they said they would be able to get by the following Tuesday. \n\nThe kicker was installed incorrectly, and doesn't have a full range of motion, the gas gauge that was supposed to be replaced clearly wasn't because I ran out of gas on a nearly full tank (good thing I thought to bring a 2 gallon can)on the Sound. Finally, I never received the plates or other licensing information. When I called to check, I asked the address the woman who answered the phone sent it to, and she said Southeast when reading me the address. I said, no it's Northeast, she paused, then said, yeah, it's Northeast, that is what I said. I asked what we can do about it, and she said, well you can just go get a copy at licensing. So now I have to pay for all the licensing duplicates because they can't fill out forms. I'm not even bringing the boat back to them to have it fixed - their service crew clearly doesn't know what they are doing, or they could have done it correctly in the first place.”
